Six back-to-school events are happening in July, where more than a thousand kids will receive free backpacks and school supplies paid for in large part by Molina Healthcare, which partners with Familia Dental to make the events possible.
Each of the back-to-school events can serve at least 200 families, and it is on a first-come-first-serve basis while supplies last.
Registration is not required, and the event is open to everyone in the community, not just Molina Healthcare members.
Familia Dental staff will be present at the event to offer appointments as part of the back-to-school initiative.
Students entering kindergarten and the second, sixth, and ninth grade require a Proof of Dental Examination Form to register for classes in Illinois.
Familia Dental offices have opened their schedules to accommodate those Families preparing for the school year.
Familia Dental and Molina Healthcare co-sponsored similar community events last year in Indiana, where their partnership began.
Molina Healthcare serves upwards of 200 thousand Medicaid members in Illinois.
Familia Dental accepts Medicaid at all locations and commits to making dental care accessible to all.
