We at Familia are thrilled that you want to find out more about taking the first step to having a better smile. The following is a typical orthodontic treatment with Familia:
First Visit: Consultation
Your first visit is a no-commitment consultation. Upon an oral exam, we may take photos, x-rays and a model of your teeth. After, our orthodontic specialist will speak with you about the state of your teeth and mouth. Based on his or her diagnosis, he or she will go into detail about the options you have for treatment, what to expect if you want to start treatment and answer any questions you have. During this time, we will verify your insurance, give you a detailed break-down of the associated cost for treatment and explain your options for payment.
Often times, we can save you time and start treatment on your first visit if you are ready to get started.
Second Visit: Records/Contracts During this visit, we may want to take additional records using our oral scanner to ensure that we have the most accurate data to make your treatment the best it can be1 We will continuously take records during your treatment to track your progress and make any necessary modifications to your treatment.
During this time, we will need your signed consent forms and contracts. Down low payment will also be due at the time.We begin this treatment by placing elastic separators between your teeth to prepare for the placement of the orthodontic bands. At this time, depending on the case, we may also place your orthodontic brackets saving you some more time.
Third Appointment: Banding and Bracketing
This appointment is where the groundwork of your better smile really starts: we place the orthodontic bands and/or brackets as well as any indicated special appliances on your teeth (if applicable). If your child is the one receiving treatment, we ask you to be present during the appointment so that we can provide you with great tips to ensure that treatment is successful.
During the course of treatment, additional appointments may be necessary to place, reposition or even change your braces. However, most appointments are only routine adjustments usually lasting no longer than 15-30 minutes.
Debanding and Retention Appointments
30 to 90 days prior to your debanding appointment we will notify you. This appointment lasts between an hour to an hour and a half. At this point in the treatment, you will be able to see the transformation which your teeth have gone through. Once the braces are removed, you will then wear retainers to ensure that your teeth set to their new desirable placements.
Our specialist will want to monitor your progress and make sure that your teeth are setting correctly with the retainer during retention appointments. These usually last no longer than 15 minutes.
What if I want Invisalign?
The process for Invisalign is very similar. However, instead of banding and bracketing, you receive a set of clear aligners to place onto your teeth. These clear aligners represent the stages which the Invisalign aligners will discretely change the positioning of your teeth. Most people have between 20 to 30 sets of aligners which are usually worn for two weeks each. Invisalign is a great way to get a better smile without the appearance of traditional braces.
There we go, it was that easy to have a better smile. Starting at just $75 a month for treatment, orthodontic treatment has never been easier to have. We hope to see you soon!
