Dr. Lauren Pass joined Familia Dental in August 2018 as an orthodontist. She provides personalized orthodontic care for both children and adults.
Aside from looking and feeling great, Dr. Pass believes that there are many other benefits to having straight teeth and proper jaw alignment. Crooked and crowded teeth are difficult to clean and care for, which is a gateway to other problems like tooth decay. Orthodontics can help other issues including abnormal wearing of the teeth, unproductive chewing functionality, misalignment of the jaw joints and gum stress.
“I was drawn to orthodontics because it is the perfect balance between art and science,” says Dr. Pass. “In addition, being a part of a patient’s transformation and then observing their pride and confidence at completion is the best reward.”
Attending Howard University in Washington D.C., Dr. Pass earned a Bachelor of Science degree and majored in biology. She earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Pass then obtained a Master of Science degree in orthodontics from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, New York. During her residency at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Department of Orthodontics, Dr. Pass served as chief resident.
Dr. Pass enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. She also likes live music, fashion and traveling.
